Things to do in Girona for children
===Playgrounds=== Girona has several small playgrounds. The best ones are: * Plaça Josep Pallach I Carola (enter cafe Armonia and go out the other side). Has swings, climbing frame, roundabout, a little house, and a place to play football. Also a cafe for parents to sit. * There is a good playground opposite Flying Tiger Copenhagen. A wooden fence surrounds it so kids can't get and run into the road. The playground has a climbing frame and swings. Bring a bucket and a spade because the playground is covered in little pebbles which is fun for kids to dig in. * Parc del Vista Alegre. Has a big playground in the middle of the park. Includes zip line, trampolines, climbing frame * Placa Josep Pla. Has a big playground, it was renovated in 2022. ===Parks=== * Parc del Migdia is Girona's biggest park. It has a big grassy area, two playgrounds, and a cafe. * La Devesa ===Play areas=== * La Font del Gat has a free indoor soft play area * La Fabrica in Celra is a cafe/bar with a play area * Mimiraki (near Migdia) for under 3s, 10 euros an hour * Bye Bye Blat has a family-friendly area upstairs, with toys for kids to play * Les Voltes Educa is a children's bookshop with a cool free small play area at the back, where all the toys are made of wood * Centre Civic Barri Vell has a room with children's toys and books (2nd floor?), anyone can walk in and use it ===Other places=== * Libraries. Girona has several libraries with children's books. **Carlos Rajola is the biggest library in Girona. There's a room for small children, which has books, toys, and colouring sheets. There is also a big older children's section which has books and board games. (You need a library card to use the board games and toys). * Merry-go-round near El Mercat Del Lleo. 15 rides for €20, adults can ride with their children for free. Run by a man called Viktor. * Kaotik World: Trampoline park just outside of Girona. Used to be called Salting Girona. * Cal Mico: Climbing center near El Corte Ingles. They have a children's area. Also children can do top-roping by themselves. * Swimming pool in La Devesa (open in summer) * The swimming pool at O2 Centre Wellness Migdia is free for children (accompanied by a paying adult) on Saturday mornings (9-1 PM) and Sunday afternoons (2-5 PM). There's different kinds of floats children can use. * Konig: Good restaurant to take children. They have hot dogs, burgers, etc * Girona has three cinemas * Eureka Kids [[File:Boy-at-cal-mico.JPG|250px|thumb|center|Cal Mico]]
Outside of Girona
* Spain's biggest theme park, Port Aventura, is a 2-hour drive from Girona. Has rides for children of all ages (toddlers to teenagers). Also has shows. Also has hotels you can stay the night and do the park the next day. * Ferrari Land. Next to Port Aventura is Ferrari Land which has the world's second tallest, second fastest roller coaster (Red Force). * La Crinera. Pony rides * Cal Cigaro. Farm * Selva adventura * Mountain walk * La baracca de can xinet * Animalots * Barcelona Zoo. Kids under three are free. Takes just over an hour to get there from Girona by train. You have to go from Girona to Barcelona Sants and then from Barcelona Sants to Estación de Francia. Opening hours: 10 am to 8 pm
* Naturlandia: It's in Andorra, it's a three-hour drive from Girona. They have something like Go Ape there. * PP's park is a fairground in Platja d'Aro, good for young kids
Water parks

Parc Aquàtic Aquadiver

Water World

Farms

Fageda farm

https://www.naturaki.com/en/go-out-children-girona-costa-brava/ recommends a place called Fageda Farm. Looks good but it’s an hour drive from Girona though. Their website is at http://www.fageda.com/com-arribar/.

Mas Bes

Mas Bes is only a 21 minute drive away from Girona.

Granja Provencal

A dairy farm open to the public. I've been and it's boring. All there is are cows.
