Languages
Nurseries and schools in Girona mostly speak Catalan or Spanish. Children under 7 pick up languages really quickly just by being around them. Immersion helps them learn fast and they usually start speaking and understanding Catalan within six months. You don’t need a bilingual or English-speaking nursery.
School is mandatory between the ages of 6 and 16.
