Via ferratas near Girona
A via ferrata is a climbing route that has metal cables, ladders, and steps fixed to the rock. You clip yourself to the cable with a harness, so even if you slip, you won’t fall far. It’s like climbing made safer and easier for beginners. Good for people who want to climb but don't have serious climbing skills.
There are several via ferrates near Girona.

There was a K1 via ferrata in Romanyà de la Selva called Gorges de Salenys but's permanently shut down.

Equipment needed
- Harness
- Lanyard (in Spanish it's called a "disipador", "via ferrata disipador" or "línea de amarre para vía ferrata")
- Helmet
You can buy the equipment at Decathlon or on Wallapop, or you can rent it from climbing shops.
Roca de la Creu[edit]
Roca de la Creu is a good via ferrata to start with as it's only a K2 (out of K6) difficulty.

Cala del Molí (Sant Feliu de Guíxols)[edit]
The first part is always open, but the full route typically opens May 31. A guide will cost you around €40 for the full route or €30 for the partial route, but you can do it for free without a guide.

- https://viaferratacaladelmoli.com will take people on a guided climb for 40 euro per person (minimum age 13), but they do NOT rent equipment anymore due to a death in June 2022.
