Hiking routes
There is a list of mountains in Catalonia called 100 Cims, it's the 100 best mountains for hiking. See https://www.feec.cat/activitats/100-cims/. There are three mountains on the list within walking distance of Girona:

Hikes outside of Girona
- Salt del Timbarro
- Blanes
- Snow hiking near Tossa Pelada (with snow rackets)
- Cim de Sant Roc and Ermita de Santa Lena. The hike is not difficult but requires moderate fitness. No risk of falling, despite a dramatic-looking rock formation in photos.
- Sant Miquel castle
- Via Verda (flat, between Creueta & Quart).
- Sant Gregori (nature area).
- Camí de Ronda (coastal walk from S’Agaró Sa Conca).
- Albanyà Natural Pools.
- Portbou to Llançà
- La Garrotxa Volcano Hike, covering: Volcà De Santa Margarida, Fageda d'en Jordà, Volcà del Croscat)
- Camí de Ronda de S'Agaró a Sa Conca (beautiful walk along the sea)
FreeAdventour
FreeAdventour is a hiking company offering donation-based hikes around Girona’s coastline and mountains. The hikes are free, and at the end you can give an optional donation (suggested donation of 5-10 euros). The company is run by Alex, he created it in 2022.
The website is rarely updated in English so it will show a list of old hikes. You have to look at the website in Catalan or Spanish instead:
