Not a Run Club (NARC) is a friendly and informal running group in Girona. They use English as their main language and mainly attract international people. It was founded in 2024[1] by Australian social marketer Kayla Paul, who had moved to Girona the previous year.[2] Their first run was on 31st August 2024.[1] They meet twice a week for a 5 k or 10 k run. They run at a slow pace, with a focus more on socializing than running. They stop for breaks to make sure no one gets left behind. At the end, they go for coffee afterwards. Kayla posts all upcoming runs to the NARC Instagram account at @notarunclub.girona. They also have a WhatsApp group at https://chat.whatsapp.com/KqWCc06ozoj29Jxa1bdP71

All their runs start at the water fountain at the eastern edge of La Devesa. See the location at https://maps.app.goo.gl/Ge5hhXedyAe2Ntfv6.

Sisterhood is a women-only running group that meets every Wednesday at 7:30 PM[3] at the Pavelló Girona-Fontajau for 5 to 10 km runs.[4] They apparently also have Sunday runs, where they run for longer than 10 km.[5] They wear purple shirts.

They also meet every Tuesday for runs in Elche (Alicante) and Reus (Tarragona).[6]

The group started when Carlota Duran[7] shared her training for the Barcelona Half Marathon on social media, and received messages from several other women who wanted to run together rather than train alone.[8] This led Carlota to create Sisterhood, a group intended for women to share motivation, feel safer, and enjoy running as a group. Carlota also seems to own a clothes shop called Duran Sisters in the Barri Vell.[9]

"Our story begins with a personal desire for self-improvement and the decision to share my preparation for the Barcelona Half Marathon on social media. The response was very positive, with many girls expressing their motivation and desire to join me. This support inspired me to create a space where we could share this passion together, away from the loneliness that often surrounds us when we train due to fear or laziness. In Girona's Sisterhood Running Club, we don't obsess over time or speed. We firmly believe that the distance covered has the same value, regardless of the pace. Our main goal is to enjoy each other's company, the fresh air, and, of course, to have fun together!" Carlota Duran https://athletiks.io/en/blog/sisterhood-women-running-community-in-girona

Nari-nant is an informal and social running club. Their first run was in August 2024 and was attended by more than 40 people.[10] You can find their upcoming runs on Instagram at @narinant.socialrun. They currently run every Thursday at 7 PM starting from the bike shop Velodrom Odeon Girona (Pujada de Sant Domènec, 6, 17004 Girona).[11] Incidentally, you can get a 20% at the cafe inside Velodrom by saying you're a member of Nari-nant.[11]

The group appears to be run by a woman called Mar Vergess (@marvergess on Instagram).[11]<ref">On her Instagram, she has @narinant.socialrun in her bio. (23 Feb 2026)</ref>

Coincidentally, Nari-nant started in the same month as Not a Run Club: August 2024.
